Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful weekend with Grandma here. She came down on Wednesday and we quickly got started on pies and all the other yummy side dishes that go with Turkey dinner. The kids had fun trying to help and participate. It's amazing how much effort goes in to making dinner and then, boom, it's over... my mom used to always say that. And now that I'm the one making dinner, I know exactly where she's coming from. It would have been nice to sit and enjoy some conversation and some wine, but the kids were up and ready to be done and move on to dessert!

Here's a pic of the turkey. Yes, it looks a little funny... we cooked it in a roasting bag, but cooked it upside down to get it nice and juicy. It was a great turkey and we had/have TONS of leftovers. Joe quickly got to work stripping the turkey and then threw it in a pot to make turkey soup. (which EVERYONE liked! Good job, honey!)

Even though we were a small group this year, it was really nice having Grandma with us. It's the first Thanksgiving that I have not been home with my family. We survived, but missed everyone. Next year we'll be in Augusta at Thanksgiving, and maybe we'll have a few extra visitors... (hint, hint!)
