When Joe and I came home from Georgia, Nana and Caroline took over the kitchen. They had already made meatballs, and now were making lasagna rolls. Boy did our house smell good!!!! Caroline LOVED the lasagna rolls as always and Nicholas LOVED the meatballs. I LOVE it when my kids finally realize that they like foods other than hot dogs, chicken, and tomatos! Even Molly ate some lasagna rolls... Nana can come back for a visit anytime she wants!!!!!!

On Nana's last morning we made Monkey Bread. The kids were a little confused by the name but Caroline had fun helping me make it.. Nicholas wanted nothing to do with it when it was time to eat. But wouldn't you know it, that after we came home from a walk he decided he wanted to try and realized how much he really liked it! Now it's all the kids want for breakfast!

On our trip to Arizona, the kids really enjoyed seeing the Cactus. Nicholas really wanted to take one home with us, but we never got around to finding one. So, Nana to the rescue. She picked up a few cactus at the airport on her trip to come see us... Then on our walk on her last day here we found some prickly pear cactus too and Joe brought home a hunk to plant....

Joe and I were lucky enough to have Nana come for a visit so that he and I could run off to Augusta, GA to look for a new house. Everyone survived and we found a house. 30 days left in TX and we'll be on our way...

Today the kids, Nana, and I went to the zoo. Unfortunately every school seemed to have a group of kids there on a field trip too. We did the best we could and Caroline at one point got a hold of our camera and had a fun time taking pictures. Most of these pictures are from her..

And, if the zoo wasn't enough, after taking naps and a little rest, we went down to the Fiesta Carnival. We still haven't figured out really what "Fiesta" is and what everyone is really celebrating, but there was a carnival and rides and we knew the kids would have fun.

Easter at Home...

Easter happened twice around our house... after getting back from Arizona we had two packages waiting for the kids...

First was from Auntie Courtney and Auntie Kendra...




(yes, my fingers were in the way, but it's the only one I got of Nicholas... and he really did like his present.. he just didn't want to smile)

Next was presents from Grandpa Paul... Molly got a fun little purse that makes noises and sings songs.

Easter Weekend

Seeing as this blog is titled "Karhan Adventures"... this post is perfectly fitting! The kids and I went on quite the adventure for Easter weekend. My parents have rented a house in Phoenix for a couple of months to try out desert living. There had been many conversations about everyone trying to visit but it just seemed that everyone would end up there at different times and with our crazy schedule I didn't think we were going to get there at all.. well... Katie and Ryan planned to go down for Spring Break, then Court and the twins decided to go down for Easter weekend. When Kendra found out, she decided to fly down for the weekend too. And, me being the crazy one, just couldn't handle all of them being together and us being stuck in San Antonio. SO.... My wonderful husband took my truck in to get the a-ok for a 1000 mile drive and I packed up our stuff and off we went the next morning! 4am the next morning....

The kids were all snuggled in the back seat with DVD's and snacks and toys. It took us about 16 hours to drive 1000 miles and the kids did great considering how long they were stuck. We got to Nana and Papa's around 8 pm...

The next morning the kids were up bright and early so they snuggled in with their cousins to watch a little movie while everyone else tried to sleep.

And even though the weather wasn't that great the first day, we were out by the pool. The weather was crazy for the weekend and rained on Saturday.. cancelling two easter egg hunts. But it warmed up enough for Easter morning and by Monday it was warm again :)

We had a wonderful time visiting Nana and Papa. Their house was perfect and the kids had a great time. We even got to have Easter Dinner with my Aunt Barbara and Uncle David. There is nothing like getting to spend time with family, especially now that we are moving farther East across the country. I wish I could say that the drive home was just as easy, but we made it safely and it was worth every extra minute that it took (18 hours in all). We'll keep our fingers crossed that Nana and Papa are there again next spring and we can all go out for another big family visit!
