more recent pics.....

Caroline and Nicholas with their little tootsie roll mini-boxes from Grandma. We went out for one last dinner before she left. It was great having her here for 3 weeks. The kids were SPOILED!

Molly at 2.5 weeks

We finally got a nice evening and ran off to the pool. Caroline brought along her blackberries that she picked with Papa. She would eat a whole bucket if you let her!

Who is this crazy boy???

We went to the zoo last Friday and the kids loved getting to see the sea creatures up close.
Caroline stuck her fingers in and touched quite a few things, Nicholas still wasn't sure.

Molly's first nap in her crib. She's been in a bassinet in our room and her crib is in Caroline's room. I wasn't sure how the two of them would do together, so Molly is usually only in there when Caroline is asleep or doesn't know where she is.

One morning, Caroline and Nicholas disappeared... this is where we found them. Caroline was reading books to Nicholas and it was probably the longest amount of time that they played well together without fighting.

Nicholas LOVES to be next to Molly, but he has not figured out that he has to be super gentle with her and that she is not a baby doll that he can toss around.

This is why I wasn't sure about putting Molly in Caroline's room..... this morning Molly and Caroline woke up at the same time and Caroline got to her first! She was in her crib trying to hold her and give Molly her binki... it was cute, but I'm not sure I want it to happen again.

Recent pics

Here are some pics from the last few days.....

What a difference three days can make in the life of a baby! (the pic above was taken on the third and the one below on the seventh). Now that she is finally getting all the "good stuff" from mommy her cheeks are really filling out and she's getting a double chin. She wants to eat ALL the time! :)

Snuggling with mom, her favorite place to sleep.
Little dude with a new (and first) haircut. It had gotten pretty wild. Joe took the kids for a walk this afternoon and then called me from the haircut place and Nicholas came home looking like a little man. I know that I would not have had the will power to let them cut this much off, but it will grow back and he's still cute!

Good Golly, Miss Molly!!!

SHE'S FINALLY HERE!!!!!! Last Saturday we checked into the hospital to get induced and try to have our little baby girl. At that point she still didn't have a name. It took us until Monday to figure that one out :) Anyway, it was a LONG day and little miss did not want to come out. Around 9pm my mid-wife broke my water and when the contractions finally kicked in Molly did NOT like it one bit and her heart rate started to drop. She never did recover and so at 1 or so in the morning we were off to the operating room for a c-section. At this point we were just thankful to get her out and have a healthy baby girl. She was born July 29, 2007 at 1:47am, 7lbs 2oz and 19.5 inches long. Her full name is Molly Chapman Karhan. The whole time I thought she was going to be the biggest of the three, but she was the smallest :) We are home and healthy and now we all just need to figure out how to get some consistent sleep. Probably won't happen for another 18 years! Here are some pics from the weekend .......

A happy mommy after getting her epidural!

Joe ready for the operating room. Sometimes having a nurse for a husband is a really great thing! I don't know what I would have done without him in there! Helps having someone who knows a little bit about what's going on.

Out go the lights for mommy! :) Took everything I had to keep my eyes open and wait for miss Molly to come out.

Proud Daddy!

12 hours later and still nameless :) We had such a tough time trying to figure this one out!

Caroline's second visit with her new sister. She loves holding her and giving her kisses. Caroline called me in the hospital but she wanted to talk to the baby, not me.

A little snooze before we got ready to go home.

Going home outfit....

And off we go...... so strange taking #3 home.

Caroline and Nana made a birthday cake for Molly. We sang happy birthday and enjoyed some chocolate cake.

Before Baby

A few pics from "before baby".... We had some hot weather and I thought I might be in labor, but alas, no baby ... she wanted to wait another two weeks!

Joe's mom came to visit for 3 weeks and hang out with the grand-babies and her new one to come. We went for a little walk down in the harbor.

Nicholas LOVES Mr. Potato head and decided he liked to wear his glasses too.. What a goof ball!!!
