Hatch Chili Festival

Yesterday we ventured up to Hatch, New Mexico for their annual Chili Festival.  Green chilis, especially, are a big thing around here, and Hatch is famous for thiers.  A couple weeks ago at the grocery store they got their annual delivery and would roast the chilis for you.  I had high hopes of getting some, however I had all 3 kids still and everytime we were near the store, the line was 30 people long....   anyway, I got my hands on some and have them in the freezer for anytime we need :)

The first thing we did was watch the parade...

We went back to our friends after for a swim and "make your own pizza" dinner.  The kids and i were wiped out after a long day of fun!

And it continues....

It's the weekend again, and Nicholas gets to sleep in "daddy's spot" in my bed.  {his spot is to the left of this picture..} We had a VERY long and busy and fun day yesterday.  The kids were tired....  I left Nicholas as he was getting his "spot" ready and went to tuck in Caroline.  When I came back to check on Nicholas, this is how I found him.  It looked as if he hadn't even made it under the covers and he certainly wasn't on his side.....  silly boy!

End of August

This week the kids were in their second week of school and their first week of activities.  We are all still getting used to being up and going early in the morning and now two nights a week the kids are going to bed late.  (hoping maybe everyone will sleep in this weekend?).  Caroline and Molly have started Gymnastics and Nicholas is/was doing Karate (after last night we are not doing it anymore).  It's been nice getting the kiddos into a routine, and now it's my turn to get myself into a routine of keeping the house clean and going to the gym and all the other things that I have to do as mom & "dad"  at the moment :) 

It's been 102* the last couple days, but Caroline insists on wearing her fleece to school...

"Superstar!"

On the weekends I will let the kids sleep in my bed...  Nicholas was told to sleep on daddy's side, we have a king bed, and this is how he chose to sleep.  really?  this is why they aren't allowed to sleep with me during the week... Mama gets no sleep when they are in bed!

Our kiddos love tomatoes! We got a harvest box this week and it came with a pound of yellow tomatoes.  They were all eaten in one sitting!

It's been one of those weeks..... I had to buy myself some flowers :)

Caroline's dessert of choice... blueberries, strawberries, raspberries covered in whip cream and chocolate sauce!

Caroline is hoping that Matt & Brady are coming for a visit soon, and if not, maybe their mom is and can take these home to them  :)
